Argentine export commitments of 2004/05 wheat rose to 11.03 million tonnes by November 4, up from 10.83 million tonnes a week earlier, the Agriculture Secretariat said on Monday.

By the same date last year, Argentina had sold 8.35 million tonnes of the grain.

Argentina reported sales last week of 50,000 tonnes of wheat to Brazil, 40,000 tonnes apiece to Algeria and Morocco, 30,000 tonnes to Egypt and 40,000 tonnes to unspecified destinations.

Farmers finished harvesting the 2004/05 wheat crop in January and have begun harvesting the 2005/06 crop. The US Department of Agriculture forecasts Argentina's 2004/05 wheat exports at 10.8 million tonnes.
